Flavors of Us – Kids in the Kitchen
One of the best ways to encourage healthy eating habits in children and teens is to get them involved in the kitchen. When kids learn to cook, they gain a better understanding of nutrition, food preparation, and what it means to make healthy choices. Cooking empowers them to take an active role in their own well-being and builds confidence around trying new foods. It’s also a great way for families to bond and have fun together while reinforcing lifelong healthy habits.
CAA Health’s Flavors of Us – Kids in the Kitchen program is designed to do just that! Created for youth ages 5 and up, this hands-on cooking experience teaches kids how to prepare nutritious meals in a fun, supportive environment. Through interactive classes, they’ll explore new ingredients, learn kitchen safety, and develop valuable life skills that support a healthier future.
Strengthening Families Program
This engaging, culturally responsive, and evidence-based program is designed to support parents and caregivers in building stronger, more resilient family units. Through a series of interactive sessions, participants will explore key protective factors such as parental resilience, social connections, knowledge of parenting and child development, and more—all aimed at promoting healthy, thriving families. Our program creates a welcoming space for caregivers to connect, learn, and grow alongside one another, while also focusing on the social and emotional competence of children and providing concrete support in times of need.
Whether you’re looking to strengthen your parenting skills or build a deeper connection with your children, this program offers tools and strategies that are practical, affirming, and culturally grounded. Light refreshments will be served, and we encourage you to bring your questions, your stories, and your commitment to building a strong family foundation.
