GET INVOLVED

Volunteer

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A WAY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

Volunteering is a great way to engage in the community, meet people, and learn new things.

Volunteers are also critical to The Center for African American Health’s success. Many of our volunteers have had such a positive experience, they have stayed with us for ears – becoming deeply involved in the work and success of our programs.

Special Event Volunteer

We are always in need of volunteers to help with tabling opportunities at community events and our special events, such as our Health Education Events throughout the year, our annual Destination Health event held annually on the 4th Saturday of July, and our Holiday giveaways. Special Event Volunteers typically assist with setting up for an event, greeting and registering attendees during the event, and tearing down after the event is over. Special Event Volunteers are crucial to ensuring that our community events are a success!

Medical Professional Volunteer

Are you a medical professional? We need physicians, dentists, nurses, dieticians, and others with medical experience to help provide free health screenings and give talks on health care topics. If you have these skills and would be willing to offer your time and talents in service to our community, please let us know, and we will add your name to a list of individuals to contact as needs arise.

Volunteer Requirements

Contact us at info@caahealth.org and let us know that you are interested in becoming a volunteer. All volunteers must be 18 years or older.

Undergo a volunteer screening background check at the cost of $15 (we split the cost of the background check). We will email you a link to the online background check after we receive your email. This cost also covers one CAA Health volunteer t-shirt.

Attend a volunteer orientation and sign up for your preferred times, tasks, and events.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with The Center for African American Health! We look forward to getting to know you and partnering with you to improve the health and well-being of the Black/African American community.
